There’s so much value in having everyone in the team on the same page. However, facilitating that can be incredibly difficult – not to mention time-consuming. This team course really laid out the OKR concept in clear, simple terms. I can already see the difference in how my employees collaborate and coordinate."

Your questions, answered

General

What are goal-setting objectives and key results?

OKRs (Objectives and Key Results) allow individuals and teams to establish challenging and ambitious objectives alongside quantifiable outcomes. This approach can be utilized to monitor progress, foster alignment, and boost participation by establishing measurable goals.

What are characteristics of objectives and key results?

Objectives should be concise, inspiring, and captivating, designed to energize and push the team forward. Key results, on the other hand, consist of metrics that gauge your advancement towards these objectives. You should aim to define between two to five key results for each objective.

How do you develop goals and objectives?

You can utilize SMART goals to help you develop objectives:
  • Specific - Goals should be clear and specific, answering the who, what, where, when, and why to provide direction and help focus efforts.
  • Measurable - It’s important to have criteria for measuring progress toward the accomplishment of the goal. This helps to stay on track and meet deadlines.
  • Achievable - Goals should be realistic and attainable, stretching your abilities while remaining possible to achieve.
  • Relevant - The goal must matter to you or align with other relevant objectives, ensuring that it’s worthwhile and fits within broader goals or plans.
  • Time-bound - Every goal needs a target date, so that you have a deadline to focus on and something to work toward.
